London (CNN)UK paediatrics specialists have warned that a small but rising number of children are becoming ill with a rare syndrome that could be linked to coronavirus.
What is Kawasaki disease?
A condition that can lead to heart complications
What causes Kawasaki disease?
What is the link to Covid-19?
That is crazy! Can we just have a break. I'm glad you posted this article though. It's always good to be informed.
There seems to be so many different symptoms to this virus. I think we will be seeing other symptoms as we progress into the end of the year.
We need to keep all age groups in mind when looking into the symptoms of the virus
I have never heard of this disease before, however the symptoms are very broad and seem to be reoccurring in just about every diagnosis so it could be hard to narrow down. The symptoms include a fever, dry or cracked lips, and swollen glands. This article also states that it isnt contagious , but is unsure how it is linked to covid-19.
@deborahwatersiectskin-com I agree so many variables! It can be difficult to narrow down!
First, it was covid, then monkeypox and now kawasaki disease. We have to be more cautious than ever nowadays. Although the symptoms of kawasaki disease is not as extreme as covid or monkeypox, it is still something to take serious, especially since it's affecting children.
I believe it is very important for us to start being more careful with sanitizing and disinfecting things before and after using them. This disease is affecting children and who knows the side effects it can have on them in their future. Covid definitely is bringing a lot of poor health care hygiene to people's attention, I just hope people are seeing this information and trying to do the best we can as a whole to prevent the spread of diseases like this.
@abigailcochraneiectskin-com Yess, the symptoms are so broad. I agree, it would be hard to narrow down who has it and who doesn't, covid was just like that in the beginning people didn't know if they just had a cold, the flu or the virus.
@keyonnastarksiectskin-com I definitely agree, and as I said previously we are not sure of the long term side effects this disease may have on children's bodies and immune systems. We definitely need to be more cautious about how much we are disinfecting and sanitizing daily.
It is quite crazy how many base symptoms there are to Covid-19, and how many rare but dangerous side effects from getting it. Even though Covid is being treated more and more like the common cold, we still need to be careful because many people are still getting infected. Until we know how kawasaki is related to covid we need to be extra careful with children and keeping them safe.
@keyonnastarksiectskin-com I know, it's like all these new viruses and diseases are popping up out of nowhere. I'm glad that more people are being health conscious now than ever before but I do wish that came about from less dire circumstances than covid.
@michaelagrayiectskin-com Yes, I'm glad that more people are being made aware of better hygiene and keeping things sanitary but I wish it didn't have to come about from a pandemic.
This disease is scary for parents. Finding out you child could have this and if untreated they could have a heart attack.

@michaelagrayiectskin-com i do agree with being more careful and always sanitizing things after we use them. Escpesially if you work with kids keep wiping everything down.
@keyonnastarksiectskin-com so many virus's and dieases's lately hard to keep track. Keep making sure you sanitizing and washing your hands!
