Your waist size may be more important than weight for multiple heart attack risk
I have been told by my personal trainer a few years ago about the risks of a heart attack when the visceral fat which wraps the organs is high. This is the fat that is linked with high cholesterol which collects and causes blockages.
I need to exercise more to reduce the belly fat!!!
I wouldn't say I'm fat around my waist because I'm not but I do know that is probably a high fat area for me (if that makes sense lol). I never look at my weight, only how I feel and look. I've been exercising about 3 times a weeks and I feel like that has made me feel a lot better.
I hear that weight training really helps to burn fat. As soon as my schedule isn't busy I'm going to join planet fitness!
It was interesting to read about the theory of the different types of fat in the mid section between woman and men. Woman may have more subcutaneous fat, which is more harmless, comparing to men, who may have more visceral fat which goes much deeper and wraps around vital organs. Ladies, are you tired of that belly fat on your husbands??? It's important to keep an active lifestyle, exercise often, whether it's a brisk walk, or a more intense workout.
Yes! You see so many men with that round hard belly and a relatively normal weight everywhere else. That is that dangerous health concerning fat. As women, we hold more fat in our belly and hips for childbearing purposes.
I have always been a tiny person. I see a trainer once a week and he tells me my body fat % is really low like below lean.
I never knew that waist size had anything to do with heart attacks but now that I read about it, it makes sense.
the men in my family such as my father, and grandfather have this problem. My grandfather did not change his diet and exercise which led to 2 heart attacks and his death. It's a very scary, and dangerous health concern, all men need to take eating healthy, and changing their diet into consideration.
@deborah men and women can benefit in reducing this belly fat, I tend to carry more weight in my hips and thighs.
