Employee mental health is a huge concern after such a brutal stretch
Recognize the signs
Say the right thing
Be proactive
Be accommodating when possible
It's really positive to see how much mental health has become an important topic of conversation everywhere since Covid started. I think it's so important that workplaces provide mental health resources, not only because of the stress that so many have been under for so long now, but because it's always been the right thing to do. Offering resources for those struggling with mental health issues helps to remove the stigma associated with them. Everyone knows that the more content employees are the better a workplace runs, and the first step to ensuring employees are feeling positively is offering assurances and resources like this. Hopefully this is a bigger start to restructuring how most workplaces treat their employees as a whole.
@delaneyhiggonsiectskin-com I think it is really amazing as well. I think people were kind of forced to sit there and think and face their issues daily. I personally know a lot of people that instead of facing the realities of daily life and responsibilities would just go out and party every night. Instead of coming home from working and sitting down and taking care of their own mental health. Now more people are aware of how difficult mental health can be. I hope it is something that continues to be a thought about and talked about issue.
Years ago no one spoke about mental health. If you did you were labeled crazy or unstable. I love that it is a topic that so many of us can discuss freely. Still things about mental health need to improve as I see and read about people hiding it for certain reasons.
Many issues can be helped if people would talk and be open minded about issues

Im really glad that more people are having this discussion I was watching sleepless in seattle and at the start of the movie the main character loses his wife and all of his coworkers are dancing around it and he gets handed like 500 business cards for a "shrink". Its crazy how controversial therapy used to be and now its so accepted and common. I think its great.
@deborahwatersiectskin-com I agree wholeheartedly. I love how the conversation is being had more.
@delaneyhiggonsiectskin-com yes if you are treating your employees well the business will end up thriving!
Mental health in general should be taken serious. I love how the world is evolving and considering how mental health plays a big part in how we conduct ourselves and deal with trauma. I especially love how other cultures and minorities are now seeing the seriousness in mental health. It's not just stopped at "oh something is off with them". There is help available and I love learning about new resources that allows growing and learning and unlearning.
This article should've had a trigger warning. Mental health is a very important aspect of someone's life, but even more so when it comes to their careers. Being in the military, mental health is not prioritized. We were "trained" to be robots; don't feel and keep pushing. They knew there was a need to provide mental health services, but you were either not taken seriously or you were repremanded in some way, shape, or form. I think it's refreshing that civilian companies go out their way to show their employees that they care enough to ensure they are ok.
@deborahwatersiectskin-com I agree with this statement. I do think some people still hide from it due to traumas associated with trusting someone. I also think it's that fear that they will be labeled crazy and unstable. The interesting thing about mental health matters, there are some privileges that someone who has been diagnosed with mental illness are not allowed to have. In the state of Virginia, you are unable to purchase a gun. Now, of course, it should be obvious why. However, there are thousands of mental health disorders that do not have self harm as a symptom. It's the idea that if you have mental issues, you can't be trusted.
@ieshabakeriectskin-com I second that statement about minorities accepting it. Recently Gucci mane and Kanye West made statements about their experiences with mental health issues. I think that this shift is needed and appreciated. When Kanye made his statement this weekend, I thought about how there is power in saying you need help as opposed to what it's tied to now, weakness.
