I wish I loved baths. the only time I take baths is when I'm sick. I couldn't ever just fill the tub to bathe and rinse myself with the water I just used to wash all the dirt off my body.
@cameranriddleiectskin-com I always felt like I would start the bath super hot and by the time I turned the water off it stopped being warm to me which made me just want to hurry and get out
@jaydensugickiectskin-com I've never knew the benefits of a milk bath but I have seen them in photoshoots
I already have hypertension so maybe if I start taking baths instead of showers it'll reverse it hah! Interesting to read this.
@brianahetlandiectskin-com rinse yourself off first in the shower and then fill the tub!
I never knew that baths were beneficial for your heart. I don't usually take baths because for someone reason I cant sit there and relax for that long. I always feel like I need to get out and do something. I defiantly will start taking them though due to all the beneficial factors.
@brianahetlandiectskin-com I agree I'm not huge on baths and also it does gross me out a little.
@emmamidgettiectskin-com They have also made me sleep better when I do take them.
What a great excuse to help your heart health! I never take the time to have a nighttime bath but should! Lots of times I am cold in the evenings, and a hot bath really helps me get warm. So soothing and relaxing as well.
Ive always taken baths to calm and relax not only my mind but my muscles because I get frequent knots from stress and anxiety. It's good to know that now I can add another thing to the list of why they are great when people bash on them.
@brianahetlandiectskin-com I am a clean freak about these kinds of things so I always take a shower first, let all the water drain out clean the tub then proceed with filling it with clean water to soak in with baking soda and Epsom salts. I can't do dirty water, its a hassle but it is worth it at the end of the night.
@abigailcochraneiectskin-com I feel the same way, I've loved them forever but to just escape from people and relax my mind but they are great for multiple other reasons not just relaxation.
After reading this, I may have to start taking baths since I was diagnosed with high blood pressure about nine years ago when I got my tubes tied. I never had a history of high blood pressure whatsoever, but something in my body did not approve of my tubes being tied and decided high blood pressure was the route to go. It is controlled with medication.
@brianahetlandiectskin-com I'm with you on this one. I don't think I'm clean enough after a bath. Even though I shower before and then rinse off afterwards.
@alexisdozieriectskin-com Agreed. I always feel bored, which then makes me rush out of the tub. I know I should try harder to sit longer in the tub because I know it would be beneficial to my issues.
This makes a lot of sense actually even though I never looked at baths as something that can be beneficial to your well-being and even help with your heart. I think a lot of the bath benefits mirror the benefits of sauna use like relaxation, adding more healthy habits into your life style and if you use Epsom salt in your baths the detoxification as well. Very good read!
@torimcneilliectskin-com I think that's a really good holistic treatment to add to your health regimine! Let me know if this works for you!
@brianahetlandiectskin-com This probably wont help out your water bill but I like to take a bath right after I shower because I also don't want to sit in dirty water.
I enjoyed this article. I always enjoyed my bath time and I knew the it had its benefits for the muscles however i had no idea of the good it has on your heart. I would be sure to add more of this to my routine.
@alexisdozieriectskin-com Same! I always feel so much more relaxed when I do.
@brandyhunteriectskin-com I do the same thing! Now that I know the additional benefits the bill is for sure going to go up!
I love taking baths, now I don't do it as often as I would like but when I do it's great. I knew there was benefits too it just not exactly what benefits. However, I always find myself super relaxed after just taking one. I have a whole routine. Candles, maybe music or could be a book or show that I'm listening to. But after I feel so relaxed. I too use Epsom salt faithfully in my baths.
When I was younger and in competitive cheerleading, my coach always had us do a relaxation routine the night before a competition. We had to take a candle lit bath with relaxing music, and do breathing exercises. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. As I got older, my attitude changed completely. I like hot water and taking a bath in hot water would always make me sweat, causing me to take a shower after the bath. This also caused my skin to dry out. After taking my last bath, I just sat and thought about all the germs that was coming off my body in the water, and then I was just sitting in it. Then, when I stand up, all those germs and that dirt clings to my skin. Now, I think it's the grossest practice ever. For me, this wouldn't reduce my risk of a heart attack because my anxiety would be through the roof which would cause a heart attack.
@alexisdozieriectskin-com When I took baths, I used to do the same thing. However, I had to learn that self-care is important and I am worthy of it just like anyone else. As someone who is a caretaker and does everything for everybody, I needed to have a few minutes of calm and solitude to regroup and escape all the requirements my daily life required from me. It took some time, but ultimately, I was able to just enjoy the moment.
@brandyhunteriectskin-com Now, epison salt baths are a different story. I do not like taking baths due to me thinking it is unsanitary, however, for the purposes of relaxing overworked muscles, I would make an exception.
I believe that bathing has a more mental affect on how we relax and what makes us feel good. If I go to the gym, and I come home and take a nice warm bath I am not only relaxing those muscles and the warmth is increasing the blood flow, I am mentally relaxing as well. That feeling maybe something that I want to experience daily so the bath has now changed my lifestyle so that I can in turn live longer and healthier.
@kijonnaroeiectskin-com I have always thought that the episom salt was just a myth. I never really believed that it works the way that people say that it works. I don't understand how it makes helps to get rid of the pain in the muscles.
@brandyhunteriectskin-com I thought about that...but maybe the other way around. Like take a bath then shower to kinda rinse off the debris of the water that you were just sitting in, even though you were washing your body.
