Small structures in the cytoplasm that do particular jobs. They are found only in eukaryotic cells and do not exist in the cells of prokaryotes. Example is bacteria.
Benefit: The name organelle comes from the idea that these structures are a part of cells, like what an organ is to the body
Fact: Chloroplast, Endoplasmic reticulum, flagellum, golgi apparatus, mitochondria, vacuole, nucleus.
