Epithelial tissue covers the whole body and is made up of packed cells arranged in one or more layers. It is the protective covering over the human body. It is the largest human organ. It protects us from sun damage, and allows us to have senses. Cells make up the body and its organs. Epithelial tissue also lines body cavities. It lines open cavities of the digestive and respiratory systems and covers the walls of organs. Skin is the largest organ and is the barrier between us and the outside world. The epithelial tissues are formed by different cells that cover the organ surfaces. It helps to protect organisms from injury or loss of fluid.


Why? (History) This tissue is separated from the lower tissue by the basement membrane. This tissue has no blood vessels so the waste exchange happens through diffusion. There are four shapes. The skin is made up of three layers. The outside layer is called the epidermis which covers the dermis and under those layers is the subcutaneous layer. Human cells are different sizes but even the largest one is too small to see with the naked eye. The tissue is made up of cells that are in sheets with attachments from cell to cell. The cells are nourished by substances coming from blood vessels in the underlying tissue.

The epithelial tissues are formed by different cells that cover the organs surface. It helps to protect organisms from injury.

How does it relate to the skin? This tissue forms to the lining of all internal and external body surfaces. If we did not have skin our muscles, organs and bones would literally be all over the place. Skin keeps them all together. We have skin to feel temperatures, be protected, keep our organs safe, and have senses. It keeps everything together, including bones, organs, tissue, tendons, eyes, cartilage, nails, hair, and fluids. Epithelial tissue known as skin covers the body and is also inside of the body.

This also is where the secretions of hormones go into the blood vascular system. The secretion of sweat, mucus, and enzymes are delivered by the ducts from the epithelium.

The epithelial tissue is basically large sheets of cells covering the organs and body from the outside world.

Where does it typically occur? Epithelial tissue covers the entire surface of the body. Skin is constantly regenerating and moving from the lower layers up and out to the epidermal layer. What we see on the surface is actually dead skin cells. At the cellular level, skin cells are called epithelial cells. Cells are throughout the whole body and in the organs. The one side of the epithelial cell is oriented toward the surface of the tissue, body cavity, or external environment. The base layer is non-cellular.

The epithelial tissues cover the entire surface of the body, so it would occur all over the skin.

When? Implications Our skin helps us when we feel too warm or cold by being regulated by the hypothalamus, which keeps our bodies at a stable temperature of about 98.6 degrees. It also takes care of the secretion of substances.

Who benefits from this? Everybody benefits from having this tissue. Stem cells can come from both plants and animal cells and play a role in antiaging of skin cells. Cells are the basic building blocks of all living things there for humans, plants and animals all benefit from cells. For example sweat is the body’s way of cooling down and it comes out of the glands in the epithelial tissue.

Everyone benefits from the epithelial tissue because without it, our organs and everything would be exposed.

What causes this? Natural cells in this tissue respond to outside temperature. They send messages to the skin from the human brain. The human body cells all operate differently. Cells are group together to form tissues, organs and systems. Groupings of trillions of cells provide structure for the body. The human cell has a membrane that has receptors that identify the cells to the other cells. Epithelial cells are positioned side by side to be able to keep the shape of the structure it is covering. They have resistance and impermeability against materials entering the body. Cells will group together and form systems. Epithelial tissue is a cause from that. The epithelial cells are all compact together.

How (Solutions) Mechanical/Machine? Machines can change the human cell. Scientists found that cells that containing a synthetic form of the substance myosin could be changed depending on the amount of this synthetic myosin. This means that myosin is not the only thing that can controls the cell shape change during cell division. Receptors react to different substances in the body as well as drugs taken into the body. This can change how the skin is performing and many people use options like this to help fight against each skin issue. Scientist found that machines can change the human cell.

How? (Solutions) Non Mechanical Taking proper care of the skin with cleansers, moisturizers, defoliators is a way. The skin must be protected from UV rays. This can be done by shielding skin with fabric and/or applying sunscreen. Protecting skin from sunburn can help prevent skin cancer. UVA & UVB light can change the structure of the cell. UVB light changes the structure of the DNA strand in the cell. It actually alters the chemical.

Proper use of non-mechanical substances can help prevent the need of mechanical options. Non mechanical can help the skin prevent any issues with the skin before they arise.
