After reading this article, I learned that cannabis might actually help with conditions like Crohn’s disease and colitis, but the research is still pretty early.

What stood out to me is that scientists found cannabis has molecules that are really similar to ones my body naturally makes called endocannabinoids that help control inflammation in the gut. These natural molecules basically act like a “switch” to turn off inflammation when it gets too intense, which is important because too much inflammation is what causes damage in diseases like Crohn’s and colitis.

I also learned that if the body doesn’t have enough of these molecules, the immune system can go overboard and start attacking the lining of the intestines, making symptoms worse.
Since cannabis contains similar compounds, researchers think it might help restore that balance and calm down the inflammation.

But one important thing I took away is that this study was only done in mice, not humans. So even though it helps explain why some people say cannabis relieves their symptoms, it’s not proven yet as a treatment for people.

Overall, I feel like I learned that cannabis has potential for treating inflammatory bowel diseases, but it’s still something scientists need to study a lot more before it’s fully understood or widely used.

After reading this article, I learned something really interesting about IBS and stomach pain. Apparently the pain people feel with IBS might actually be similar to an itch inside the gut not just regular pain. Scientists found that the same receptors that make my skin feel itchy also exist in the gut and when they’re activated they can cause that uncomfortable painful feeling.

What stood out to me is that people with IBS might have more of these receptors, which makes their gut more sensitive. So even when there isn’t an obvious reason for pain their nerves can still react like something is wrong.

I also learned that IBS affects a lot of people and comes with symptoms like cramps, bloating, gas, and changes in digestion. There’s no real cure, but it can be managed by paying attention to things like diet, stress, and exercise.

Overall, this made me realize that IBS isn’t just a simple stomach issue it’s more complex and it might actually be tied to how the body processes sensations like an internal “itch” that turns into pain.

After reading this, I realized that belly fat is actually a bigger deal than I thought. It’s not just about how much weight others have overall, it really matters where the fat is on the body. Fat around the stomach especially can increase the risk of early death even if the rest of my body seems fine.

What stood out to me is that this type of fat called visceral fat, builds up around my organs and can mess with hormones. It can lead to serious health problems like diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and even things like Alzheimer’s. That made me see that belly fat isn’t just about appearance, it’s really about overall health.

I also learned that things like stress might play a role too since cortisol can increase fat storage in that area. And surprisingly doing a bunch of ab workouts alone won’t fix it, it takes a combination of eating better and staying active.

The biggest takeaway for me is that focusing on a healthier lifestyle overall, like eating more whole foods, watching portions, cutting back on sugar, and exercising regularly. Even small habits, like drinking water before meals or using smaller plates, can help avoid overeating. And instead of just relying on the scale, pay attention to waist measurements since that tells you more about health.

When I learned about freckles, it made a lot more sense why they show up more in the sun. Basically, freckles are the skin’s way of protecting itself from UV rays. When someone is out in the sun, there skin produces more melanin, the pigment that gives skin its color, to help block and scatter those harmful rays so they don’t damage the DNA.

But instead of spreading evenly, the melanin sometimes clumps in certain spots, which is what creates freckles. That’s why it gets darker or more noticeable in the summer and fade when there’s less sun.

I also found out there are different types of freckles. The common ones the small, light ones they usually change with sun exposure, while others often called age spots, are darker, larger, and don’t fade because they come from long-term sun damage.

I read an article from Stanford University explaining that many common dental problems, like crowded teeth, needing braces, and wisdom tooth removal, might actually come from a modern issue where our jaws are getting smaller. What stood out to me is that researchers don’t think this is mainly genetic, but instead caused by lifestyle changes.

The article explains that earlier humans had larger jaws and fewer dental issues, which suggests this shift happened too quickly to be due to evolution. Instead, things like eating softer, processed foods, chewing less, and having poor oral posture like mouth breathing or tongue positioning seem to be the main causes.

What I found interesting is that this problem can actually be prevented, especially in kids. Simple habits like encouraging more chewing, maintaining proper breathing, and developing good oral posture early on can help guide healthy jaw development.

Overall, I took away that shrinking jaws aren’t just something we have to accept they’re largely preventable, and addressing them early could also help avoid bigger health problems like sleep apnea and stress later in life.

-You can go back to those notes and see what progress has been made with the clients skin with the treatments that you have been providing.

-Its important to go back to the previous note left so you can pick up where you left off. This will also help remind you of what you are working on with the clients skin, so you can ask questions regarding how the last treatment went and how the clients skin felt/looked the following days.

-Charting treatment notes will help remind you what modalities/product usage was used and what level the client can tolerate up to.

-In the clients chart, all products and treatments should be listed not only for the client, but also to protect ourselves. IF anything goes wrong, or the client comes back unhappy with treatment results and would like to pursue legal action, you have all of their treatment history.
