The Virginia Institute of Esthetics
Founded in 2002 by Saphonia Gee, The Virginia Institute of Esthetics (VIE) offers a complete and thorough education in the study of esthetics and is recognized as one of the premier centers of higher learning on the East Coast. VIE is certified by the State Council of Higher Education of Virginia (SCHEV), licensed to operate by the Board for Barbers and Cosmetology Esthetics Regulations, and is a member of the Society of Virginia Skincare Specialists.
Saphonia is president and CEO of The Virginia Institute of Esthetics and founder of both the Society of Virginia Skincare Specialists and The University Of Esthetics & Research for the Art & Science of Beauty. At The Institute, she developed educational programs for Degrees of Esthetics. Together with her team of Master Estheticians, Saphonia continues to provide skin care protocols and products for her patients.
Along with her certifications in Esthetics, Saphonia is an international diplomat for Comite International d’Esthetique et de Cosmetologie.
A Learning Experience
The Saphagee´ Style of education was developed over the years by Saphonia Gee and incorporates a distinct blend of Montessori teaching methods, such as emphasizing self-directed activity combined with clinical observation that imparts more information to students in a shorter period of time.
Saphonia discovered that her students retained a better understanding and deeper comprehension of subject matter when they were allowed to study at their own pace in an effective adult learning environment.
